The teddy is a traditional comfort object prevalent in American culture. People give these stuffed faux fur bears to others as tokens of love and affection, often to comfort children. My teddy is has the shape of a traditional bear but he is faceless, skinless, and his innards are on full display. Hair Bear is stuffed with my own hair and made from my own hands, my comfort object is both an extension of myself and a symbol of being unable to truly console myself from insecurity despite my attempt.
