Casandra Cyr

I am an artist based out of Canton, Connecticut, who just recently graduated from University of Hartford with a BFA in Illustration and Painting. Throughout my artistic career, I’ve been heavily inspired by works such as Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 and Ayn Rand’s Anthem, both featuring the systematic decimation of agency by withholding information through militant power. My portfolio is focused on government control stemming from Michel Foucault’s concept of the Panopticon and how blatant their propaganda and excessive force can be. Due to this influence, my work often features caricatures of government officials marked by their long winding necks and obvious public surveilience.
